Classroom Day

If you see students on the show floor Monday be sure to give them a wave. They are the future of material handling.

Every year MHIA invites students and educators to attend Classroom Day at ProMat. Classroom Day is a half-day guided tour and lunch where around 150 high school and college students who are a part of a material handling or logistics program are able to see the show and interact with exhibitors.

Students split into groups by their specialty or interest and guided through the show floor by exhibitors. They are given the opportunity to meet people within the industry and to make contacts  as well as secure internships and even jobs.

This is a great opportunity not only for the students but for the exhibitors. By meeting these students, exhibitors are able to introduce themselves to potential employees who are interested and trained in their field. This is a huge advantage to companies because it speeds up the vetting process.

If you are interested in learning more about Classroom Day you can visit our Everyone’s a Student Lifetime Learning Center located in the Hub at ProMat.

If you would like to participate by hosting or guiding the students on Classroom Day email Carmen Murphy at cmurphy@mhia.org.
