Educators Share Takeaways From the 2017 Material Handling Teachers Institute

The 2017 Material Handling Teachers Institute (MHTI) was hosted by Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon on July 24-28, 2017. The event included 25 current and future educators in material handling, logistics and supply chain operations from all across the country. This week long program offered presentations from academic and industry experts and activities and facility tours that focused on emerging areas of interest to the industry and research community.

Results from our post event survey captured anonymous attendee takeaways and highlights:

“I got enthusiastic again about teaching. It passed a long time since I attended the last event like this. I got new ideas that I would like to try in class.”

“I enjoyed the topics on supply chain engineering and teaching strategies. I look forward to having the material to develop new courses.”

“Useful and practical tips were presented by the experienced professors and instructors. Also exchanging ideas with peers and benefiting from their valuable experience was a great opportunity.”

“I knew no one in the event.  I left with very significant contacts and multiple prospect for research project collaborations.”

Lastly, educators were able to have fun, relax and network with others in their field at a Corvallis Knights baseball game.
