Inventus Power Increases Production to Support Medical Devices During COVID-19
MHI member companies are among the leading suppliers in manufacturing and supply chain and with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of these companies have been doing amazing things to better the safety of our citizens and the security of our economy.
This week we spoke with MHI member company Inventus Power about their recent ramp up of operations to meet the increased demand from medical OEM customers and how this is making a difference in the lives of others and in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Modern medicine requires power. Hospitals and the devices used in them are run by electricity, which means emergency backup power is needed. Plus, as devices go mobile, so must the power. Inventus Power is a designer and manufacturer of battery packs, chargers, and power supplies for a broad range of applications, including medical devices. When COVID-19 hit, they had to ramp up production in a big way.
Many of Inventus Power’s customers are medical device OEMs who produce ventilators respiratory devices, and other life-saving equipment, which have obviously seen a surge in demand. “We’ve increased production to ensure that our medical OEMs get the critical products they need while still being able to provide exceptional support to our other customers as well,” says Michael Stuart, Chief Commercial Officer.
“This pandemic has affected us all, and many have stepped up efforts despite the challenges,” says Stuart. “It has also been great to see our global organization come together to support each other in various ways – from shipping raw materials and equipment to sending masks, disinfectants, and other PPE to each other – all of our employees and sites have helped each other get through these challenging times.”
For Inventus Power employees, it’s encouraging to see that their efforts, no matter the size, are making a difference. Staying positive and recognizing others for their efforts can keep us motivated and connected during this challenging time.
