MHI Young Professionals Network and MHEDA Co-Host 2015 Emerging Leaders Conference

MHI Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted the Emerging Leaders Conference in downtown Chicago on Thursday, July 30, 2015. The conference was attended by more than 100 people from over 50 material handling companies. The conference was centered on the topic of Collaboration and had three keynote speakers and an interactive roundtable discussion.

Devon Birch, MHI’s Director of Membership and manager of YPN said, “I felt like this was the best Emerging Leaders Conference to date. The speakers were able to keep the attendees engaged while providing several important concepts that you could immediately apply once you got back in the office.”

Jeff Havens, kicked off the event with a session about “Us vs. Them,” a unique take on the issues discussing the impact of the multigenerational workforce. The next presentation from Banding People Together’s Brant Menswar and Dave Place dug into the attendee’s collaborative leadership style.

Roundtable discussions followed lunch.  Afterward, Alex Holden an Online Marketing Training Specialist discussed mobile marketing.  Jeff Havens wrapped up the conference with an interactive session on public speaking.

Attendees then were able to network at a rooftop reception.

Susan Freibrun, MHEDA’s Education and Meetings Manager states, “MHEDA is proud to partner with MHI to offer a conference that provides education and networking opportunities to the material handling industry’s next generation. The goal is to provide leadership training that is fun, interactive, memorable and practical for today’s young professional. This year we had a record number of attendees. We hope to see everyone again next summer in Chicago!”
