New Generation Supply Chain Workforce Track at MODEX 2016

The MHI Young Professionals Network (YPN) is sponsoring a Supply Chain Education Summit Track titled New Generation Supply Chain Workforce on Tuesday, April 5 at MODEX 2016. Below are answers to common questions about attending.

1. What are the times and the topics for this track?

2. This sounds like a great track, but I’m not a young professional. Should I still attend? Can executives attend?

YES! The event is sponsored by YPN but the topics are about the next generation workforce including how to hire and retain millennials. Topics on inclusion, training, marketing and recruitment will be discussed which affects everyone – not just young professionals.

3. I can only make one session – can I still attend?

Yes. This is a free education track that lasts most of the day but you can attend as many or as little sessions as you like.

5. Do I need to register in advance?

No, we do not require registration – your badge for MODEX will get you in the door. Just show up for the session or sessions you would like to attend.

6. I’m an executive who is looking to hire more women for my company – would Valerie Alexander’s talk on Women in the Workforce be appropriate for me to attend?

Absolutely. Valerie’s talk goes in depth about how men and women have different strengths. She goes into how women can modify their behavior or communication to improve their business relationships but her talk also helps men to understand how to work better with women. This talk is especially insightful for executives to create a working environment that encourages and supports working women.

7. What will Seth Mattison be covering in The Future of Work Today? 

We have all heard about the skills gap and how the supply chain industry is looking to fill open positions. Seth will discuss what the new workforce looks like and how the industry can adjust to attract and retain people. He will go in-depth about what issues material handling and supply chain companies are facing when it comes to flexible schedules, work-life balance and other benefits that today’s workforce are looking for in a job.

9. Can I attend the networking event if I haven’t attended any of the other YPN education sessions?

Yes. Attend as many or as little sessions as you want or have time for.
