North American Occupational Safety and Health Week Scheduled for May 4-10

Through OSHA’s Alliance with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), OSHA is continuing to work with ASSE to support North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week on May 4-10, 2014. NAOSH Week, an annual campaign led by the ASSE and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), is aimed at increasing awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health. The theme for the 2014 campaign is “Workplace Safety Works for Everyone.”

The 2014 NAOSH Week event will be held Wednesday, May 7 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. This year’s event will feature presentation of the new “Spirit of Alliance” award by ASSE to an OSHA Alliance Program participant that has achieved exceptional results.

In addition, Dr. David Michaels, Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health, has been invited to give the keynote address.

The NAOSH Week will also feature safety awareness video and art contests for students.  Entries are due by Feb. 28.
