Not All Casters Are Created Equal – ICWM Webinar

If you have something that rolls, you’re going to want to pay attention.

On July 28, the Institute of Caster and Wheel Manufacturers (ICWM) is hosting a webinar, titled “Not All Casters Are Created Equal: Ensure Safety, Productivity, and Performance,” about their ANSI standard. Compliance with the standard ensures safety, performance, and productivity for casters and wheels.

So… who cares, right? Well, you. Because if you look around, you’ll spot some casters pretty quickly. Hint: look down. If you’re sitting in an office chair like we think you are, and it rolls, it’s probably on casters. The carts they use to move stuff around the factory and office? Casters. Other rolling things you use all the time? Casters and wheels, baby.

The standard includes a variety of tests that will simulate real-life performance, ensuring that your caster will hold up over time and be safe for workers to use. They also test core elements that users need to consider when selecting casters, such as material, size, or push/pull forces.

The webinar will review some of the tests and why they are important, as well as discussing the ergonomics of casters (bet you didn’t know that was a thing) and how selecting the right caster can reduce lower back injury and save your company money as injury claims drop.

Tune in on July 28 at 2pm EST at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1624433154770386691 to get the scoop. Don’t know where to start when picking casters for your applications? We can help. Check out mhi.org/icwm for more information.
