Omaha Bryan High School Wins 2015 Excellence In Action Award

Congratulations to Omaha Bryan High School for being the 2015 Excellence In Action Award winner! This award is is held by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc). It is awarded to schools with uniquely inventive and effective approaches to stimulating student learning, offering extensive work-based learning experiences, maintaining strong partnerships with industry and community organizations, and preparing students for postsecondary and career success. NASDCTEc’s vision is to support an innovative Career Technical Education system that prepares individuals to succeed in education and their careers and poises the United States to flourish in a global, dynamic economy through leadership, advocacy and partnerships.

Omaha Bryan High School is one of the schools supported by MHI’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, a joint educational endeavor of the MHI and the Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc (MHEFI). They support a number of categories of agencies and schools,  among these being (but not limited to): High Schools, Technical and Career Centers, Community Colleges, Technical Colleges, Job Corps, DECA Programs, Correctional Organizations with a training and education component, and United States Military.

Why do MHI and MHEFI support such an endeavor?-

– A mission of both organizations is to support education in material handling at ALL educational levels.

– A major initiative of the Boards of both organizations is to build the “Workforce of the Future” to support our members and their customers.

– The organizations want to provide training so that young persons entering the workforce, the unemployed, the under-employed, and job changers can begin a career in this dynamic industry.
