Ten Things You Didn’t Know About Craig Ferguson

This year MHI Industry Night at ProMat 2019 will feature entertainment by Craig Ferguson, a Scottish-American television host, comedian, author and actor. You might know Ferguson from hosting the American late-night talk show called Late Late Show, or for his role on the American game show Celebrity Name Game, but do you know these ten things about his life and career?

1. Ferguson is the winner of two Daytime Emmy Awards for being an Outstanding Game Show Host for the game show Celebrity Name Game in 2015 and 2016.

2. In 2017 he released a web show with his wife Megan, titled Couple Thinkers. It ran for six episodes.

3. Ferguson has written two books including a novel titled Between the Bridge and the River, and a memoir titled American on Purpose.

4. He holds both British and American citizenship.

5. At age sixteen, Ferguson began an apprenticeship to be an electronics technician at a local factory of Burroughs Corporation.

6. He has five tattoos. Ferguson jokes that underneath his suit he beats the heart of punk rock.

7. Ferguson  appeared in the role of Nigel Wick on the ABC sitcom The Drew Carey Show from 1996–2004.

8. Ferguson was the featured entertainer at the April 2008 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, DC.

9. Ferguson is one of four children. He has two sisters (one older and one younger) and one older brother.

10. Ferguson’s comedy influences include Monty Python, The Three Stooges, and David Letterman to name a few.
