Damon Carson

Damon Carson is the founder and President of repurposedMATERIALS. Their strategy for landfill diversion is called “repurposing”. Damon, and his “repurposing” concept, have been featured in such media outlets as the Chicago Tribune, CNN Online, the Dallas Morning News, and in Oprah Winfrey’s magazine amongst many others.

repurposedMATERIALS is actually Damon’s second foray into the waste stream of America albeit with a very different and unique business model. Several years back, he sold a garbage company that he had co-owned in the Colorado ski resorts of Vail and Breckenridge to Waste Management.

His company currently has locations in Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Philadelphia.

Dave Delong

Dr. David DeLong helps leaders implement practical solutions to critical skill shortages created by new technologies, major changes in workforce demographics, and shifts in generational values. President of Smart Workforce Strategies, David is also a research fellow at the MIT AgeLab and has been an adjunct professor at Babson College where he teaches “Leading & Managing Organizational Change.”

He is co-author of The Executive Guide to High-Impact Talent Management (McGraw-Hill), and author of the widely-praised book Lost Knowledge: Confronting the Threat of an Aging Workforce (Oxford University Press). His most recent book is Graduate to a Great Job: Make Your College Degree Pay Off in Today’s Market.

David’s work has been widely cited in the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Harvard Business Review Blog, CIO Magazine, US News & World Report and The Boston Globe. He has also been interviewed on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “Talk of the Nation”.

Alexis Madrigal

Alexis Madrigal is a contributing editor at The Atlantic where he writes about technology, science, business and trade. Previously, he was technology editor and deputy editor for TheAtlantic.com, he launched their Technology Channel before moving on to Fusion where he was editor-at-large until moving back to The Atlantic.

Alexis Madrigal is host of the Fusion podcast titled Containers. During this 8-part podcast documentary Alexis discusses how global trade has transformed the economy and our lives while he leads the listeners through the world of ships and sailors, technology and tugboats, warehouses and cranes.

Alexis is author of Powering the Dream: The History and Promise of Green Technology. His research has recovered amazing stories of green technological experimentation from the past. As Alexis explains, many of these moments were forks in the road on the way to our present society and they demonstrate what is possible. Chosen as Required Reading by Outside magazine.
