Material Handling Economy Report

New Video on MHI View: Handling the US Economy

Material handling is an essential part of supply chains around the world and is a vital part of our growing digital economy. This is why MHI worked with Oxford Economics to produce the first-ever Economic Impact Report.

MHI commissioned this report with Oxford Economics to quantify the economic impact that this vital industry has across all industries and regions of the United States.  That impact in 2018 amounted to more than $173.2 billion in GDP, as well as $39.3 billion in taxes to local, state and federal governments. In addition, the report found that the material handling industry supported nearly 1.6 million jobs in 2018, and workers in the industry earn $73,900 annual income on average.
