Watch the Panel Discussion on the U.S. Roadmap for Material Handling & Logistics

On October 1, 2013, the 300-plus industry member participants at the MHI 2013 Annual Meetings in Orlando, Florida, heard about the U.S. Roadmap for Material Handling & Logistics during a special panel discussion. The panel consisted of end users and industry leaders who discussed how the Roadmap is important to the industry and their individual companies. They included:

•      Randolph Bradley, Technical Fellow in Supply Chain Management at The Boeing Co.

•      Laurie Denham, PLS, CAE, President of the American Society of Transportation & Logistics

•      Kevin Gue, Editor of the U.S. Roadmap for Material Handling & Logistics and Tim Cook Professor of Industrial Engineering at Auburn University

•      Jonathan Rader, Manager of Design Engineering at FedEx SmartPost

•      David Steele, Director of Distribution Services at The Walt Disney Co.

•      Matt Weinberg, Supply Chain Analyst at Nestlé

The discussion was moderated by Michael Mikitka, CEO of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC).

The six panelists were from more than 100 thought leaders—including material handling and logistics practitioners, suppliers, academia, associations and government—who participated in four roundtable events. Held April through June 2013 in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago, roundtable attendees contributed thoughts about the capabilities that the material handling and logistics industry needs to develop between now and 2025. These new capabilities will increase productivity, reduce costs, create jobs and improve the global competitiveness of the U.S.

As one of the U.S. Roadmap for Material Handling & Logistics’ association partners, MHI has made a video of the panel discussion available. Click here to watch the video here.
