5 Ways to Have a Blast at the 2018 MHI Annual Conference

This year’s MHI Annual Conference offers the opportunity to work hard and play hard as you network with your peers and make lasting business connections in supply chain and material handling. Located in Orlando, Florida at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, MHI has arranged for four inspirational keynotes, multiple education sessions, and a bunch of fun activities. Enjoy these five ways to have a blast at the MHI Annual Conference.

1. Glow Games/ Laser Skeet/ Putting

After a short walk over to the golf course for Monday night’s dinner, you’ll have a chance to show off your skills. We’ve got all sorts of things planned: laser skeet shooting, glow foot golf and cornhole, and glow putting and chipping stations.

2. Ritz-Carlton Spa

So, to be totally honest, this isn’t part of the Annual Conference, so if you want to do it, expect to pay the fees for it. But come on! It’s the Ritz-Carlton Spa! Even the non-spa people at our office have heard of that. Treat yo self!

3. FIRST Robotics Team Demos

On Sunday afternoon, Orlando’s own FIRST Robotics Team, 4-H Exploding Bacon Robotics Team 1902, will be demo-ing (in the demonstration and perhaps the demolition sense of the word) their most recent robotics projects. Learn how they are using STEM activities and the FIRST program to learn about the supply chain industry and paving their own pathways to potential supply chain careers.

4. Pet Rescue by Judy

During the Sunday night dinner, we’re going to have Camp Canine, an area where we’ve invited some furry friends to join us. A local non-profit, “Pet Rescue by Judy” is coming with her pooches to set up a Canine Camp on the lawn area. For just $5 you can spend some time in the camp playing, feeding, and just giving some very needed attention to her rescues. All proceeds will help Judy to purchase more supplies for her rescue organization in Orlando.

5. Industry Night

It starts with Happy Hour, which is always good, but then there’s going to be a whole bunch of cool stuff. We’ve got people on springy stilts who are going to be doing flips and tricks and a whole bunch of hullabaloo alongside other acrobatic performances throughout dinner.

Then of course the Industry Night presentation. Awards for the win!

After that we’re going to see “The Passing Zone,” a comedy act from Jon Wee and Owen Morse who will be doing crazy things with flying sharp objects. And chainsaws. Because that’s not crazy at all.
