Know Your Risk! Cybercrime is on the Rise
The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) produces an annual report detailing trends in cybercrime. According to its 2020 report, the IC3 received a record 791,790 complaints from the American public that year, a 69% increase from 2019. Victims’ losses totaled $4.2 billion, up from $3.5 billion in 2019.
Cisco’s cloud-delivered security service detects an average of 60,000 new malicious destinations such as domains, internet protocols and URLs each day, according to the company. Cisco used data from more than 620 billion Internet requests in 190 countries to produce its “2021 Cyber Security Threat Trends” report.
