Bill Started with UPS as a College Student
The UPS has been home to Bill for more than 25 years! While playing college basketball, the New York City native started working for the company as a part time package handler. He grew his experience at UPS, relocating several times and gaining experience in the healthcare, automotive, and aerospace sectors.
UPS Recently Opened a New Facility with Smart Automation
In November 2023, Bill Seward joined a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new UPS Velocity facility in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. This warehousing and distribution center, which features machine learning and AI, was built to handle the growth of e-commerce. According to the UPS, the facility currently operates 700 bots, but plans to triple that number in the upcoming year.
Sustainability is a Huge Focus for UPS
Overseeing freight, warehousing, and distribution, Bill will help UPS achieve its bold sustainability goals. The company has stated that its “goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in all our operations by 2050. Our commitment takes a comprehensive approach across scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.”
Sustainability is also a focus for MODEX 2024.
