MODEX 2014: Day One Recap

It was a great first day of MODEX 2014. The huge turnout and innovative exhibits demonstrate why MODEX is the greatest supply chain show on Earth! Hallmarked by the Shipping Trends for Supply Chains keynote featuring Gil West of Delta Air Lines as well as the educational and networking events of MODEX University, the day highlighted the trends, technologies, diversity, and growth of the material handling, logistics and supply chain industry.

Today’s keynote examined trends and issues in the global supply chain from both a carrier and a shipper’s perspective, providing insight into future global supply chain issues and trends, advanced manufacturing customer needs, and technology applications. MODEX University included events on ergonomics in distribution centers, plug and work material handling, initial layout for a production or service facility, and next generation supply chains.

From 8:00am to 5:00pm, the Georgia World Congress Center was a forum for the exchange of ideas, business development, and professional growth as exhibitors and attendees took advantage of educational and networking opportunities and saw, first-hand, the solutions of 800 of the top providers. All had the opportunity to learn how to better manage the people, processes and technologies that make up their supply chains while building valuable relationships with new and industry existing contacts.
As the first day of MODEX 2014 comes to a close, we can all look forward to even more opportunities to learn and network throughout the week. Remember to download the MODEX app and follow MODEX on Twitter @modexshow for important updates. We look forward to seeing you all tonight at the Industry Night Reception at the Georgia Aquarium from 6:30 – 8:30pm where we can all unwind and casually network.
