MODEX 2014: Day Two Recap

Day two of MODEX 2014 had a great start with A Conversation with Lee Scott, a keynote from the former CEO of Walmart. He detailed how to build a logistics and supply chain organization that is a market differentiator. His focus on organizational development and innovation combined with anecdotal examples from his professional career provided an educational, yet, fun conversation with plenty of takeaways for early-career and experienced professionals.

Attendees filled the showroom floor once again to check out the many exhibits and take part in the day’s education sessions. The 2014 Logistics Summit as well as sessions on supply chain technology, healthcare strategies, omni-channel trends, operations improvement, and many other topics provided plenty of opportunities to learn and connect.

This evening, there are two more evening events, which are great opportunities to unwind and casually network: the MODEX Networking Meet and Greet sponsored by the MHI Young Professionals Network from 4:30 – 6:30pm and the 2014 Georgia Logistics Summit Networking Reception from 5:30 – 8:30pm.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, day three of MODEX 2014 will start with a Preview of the MHI Annual Industry Report: Innovations the Drive Supply Chains with MHI CEO George Prest and Deloitte Consulting Principal Scott Sopher from 8:30 – 9:45am. The report focuses on industry trends and issues that will impact business for the next three to five years.
