New Video on MHI View: Evolving Sensor Technology for Autonomous Vehicles

As part of MHI’s ongoing video program, this new episode focuses on: Evolving Sensor Technology for Autonomous Vehicles

Today’s autonomous mobile robots use a variety of sensors to make their way around their environments. Most autonomous vehicles today use some combination of radar, lidar and cameras to see their environment and navigate around it. While radar has a longer range and is generally less expensive to install, it can’t provide the same level of detail that lidar or cameras can. For autonomous vehicles which must be able to operate about around objects such as pedestrians and debris, this is a major draw back.
