Paul Dittmann to speak on supply chain transformation at 2015 MHI Annual Conference

UT’s Paul Dittmann is a keynote speaker at the 2015 MHI Annual Conference. He will speak on transforming supply chains.

The material for this session is based on Paul’s book, Supply Chain Transformation. Paul will take the complex subject of supply chain strategy and break it down into an easily understood nine step process that includes real-world examples that bring to life the complexities of getting organizational support. He will detail how to start with your customers, assess your internal capabilities, evaluate your competitors and identify the new capabilities that will transform your supply chain.

1) In his current position at executive director of The Global Supply Chain Institute, Dittmann is responsible for the University of Tennessee (UT) Supply Chain Forum, which has more than 50 sponsoring companies. Go Big Orange!

2) He teaches supply chain management courses in UT’s College of Business Administration and lectures in its executive education programs.

3) Prior to coming to UT, he had a 32-year career in industry and has held Fortune 150 positions in supply chain and logistics. He most recently served as Vice President, Supply Chain Strategy, Projects, and Systems for the Whirlpool Corporation.

4) He developed global supply chain and manufacturing strategies for the Whirlpool Corporation that saved over $600 million.

5) In 2013, SCM Operations named him one of the top ten global supply chain thought leaders.

6) He is a published author of several books and articles, including New Supply Chain Agenda and Supply Chain Transformation, and Harvard Business Review’sAre You the Weakest Link in Your Supply Chain?”

7) He has consulted or done executive education for numerous firms including Walgreens, Walmart, Boise, Tyco, Honeywell, Genuine Parts, Cintas, Cooper Tire, Johnson & Johnson, Estee Lauder, The United States Army, The Marine Corps, Michelin, Nissan, Lockheed Martin, Race Trac Petroleum, OfficeMax, Sony, GlaxoSmithKline, Lowes, Navistar, United States Air Force.
