ProMat Education Sessions: Changing Workforce

On the Tuesday of ProMat (that would be April 4), MHI is presenting a seminar on the changing workforce. Dr. David Delong, President of Smart Workforce Strategies, will speak on “Closing the Skills Gap: Innovative Talent Solutions for a Changing Workforce.”

We constantly hear and read about the skills gap shortage, which is ever increasing due to retirement of baby boomers.  The problem becomes finding solutions to that problem as technology and worker training needs change at an exponential rate. Dr. Delong is all about providing applicable solutions to close the skills gap.

Dr. Delong will incorporate input and feedback from the MHI Annual Industry Report, Material Handling & Logistics U.S. Roadmap 2.0, and the 2016 MHI Annual Conference workforce session to offer tips on how to close the skills gap.  Industry executives can no longer be complacent when it comes to recruiting, developing and retaining high potential employees and future leaders. This session will show how to prioritize talent-related risks, identify the seven talent problems that kill profits, and how to accelerate knowledge transfer in the multigenerational workplace.

Come join us on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 3:45 to 4:30pm for “Closing the Skills Gap: Innovative Talent Solutions for a Changing Workforce” featuring Dr. David Delong. This session will be held in the Promat 2017 Education Seminar Theater F, located in the far back right corner of ProMat’s South Hall Exhibit floor.  For more information on the session visit
