Be proactive to meet coming sustainability requirements and create competitive advantage

Companies are seeing more and more demand from their customers, investors, and authorities to publish and enhance their sustainability data. The SEC’s proposed rules on companies’ climate-related disclosures are expected to be finalized soon. If you are, or have customers that are, a publicly held company you need to prepare now.

“MHI needs to keep its members appraised of ongoing developments and prepared for more sustainability actions, regardless of the timing of SEC emissions rules,” says Jason Schenker, president of Prestige Economics. “The timing of the SEC’s final determination could result in a rapid push to compile emissions data that could be felt up and down material handling supply chains.”

Sustainability is not only good for the environment, it’s good for business. It builds transparency, protects against disruption, reduces energy costs and can improve overall customer satisfaction.

To help MHI and WERC members, MHI has partnered with Guidehouse Consulting to provide Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (Supplier LoCT) sustainability training.

Participants in Supplier LoCT training get a head-start in managing, reporting and reducing their Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. They will also gain:

–Exposure to leading global manufacturers looking for suppliers who have committed to supply chain sustainability.

–Thousands of dollars saved on sustainability consulting fees related to Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Footprinting, Target Setting and Abatement planning.

–Marketing and communications advantages with progress to share, and customized collateral for stakeholders, social media and the press.

The deadline to sign up for the training is August 25,  Contact Carol Miller at MHI for more information.
