Venture Capital Bets on Supply Chain Management Mobile Technology
Venture capitalists and a major electronics manufacturer are pouring millions into a Silicon Valley startup that recently introduced a mobile, cloud-based, supply chain-management platform.
The Mountain View, California firm says it has garnered more than $60 million in funding for its end-to-end platform offering “real-time visibility into supply chains using beautiful, bite-sized apps” for managing risks, tracking shipments and monitoring key performance indicators. The company compares use of its software to popular, downloadable apps, although the platform contains big-data technology.
The firms’ customers include companies in the energy, automotive, healthcare, industrial and technology sectors.
